New technologies have fundamentally changed the electricity supply industry, particularly with respect to the understanding of kWh and LCOE. This often leads to inappropriate comparisons and misconceptions. In this presentation, these fundamental technology changes and impacts are explored, while considering customer requirements and changes from traditional technologies to new technologies. The CSIR (IPR), the Draft IRP, rooftop PV and the impact of these changes are explored. The intension of the presentation is to stimulate discussion and increase clarity for better insights into the industry.
